Memorial Day Ceremony Pix
« on: May 28, 2011, 10:13:22 PM »
Today aboard Torsk we held our annnual Tolling of the Boats ceremony. I've included a few pix below.

The ceremony was split into three parts, taking place at 1300, 1400 and 1500. Members of the Torsk Volunteer Association together wtih representatives of Chesapeake Base USSVI read the names of the lost boats and rang the ships bell for each. The large flag flying aft is in honor of Darrin Singer's grandfather.

The last shot is of some of the Torsk Volunteers aboard for the day.

Thank you again Gil for flying the flag and posting the picture of it online, my family is proud to know that you all fly it from time to time in honor of him and those whom we have lost

RIP Henry Lee Moyers

Darrin,

It's an honor to fly your grandfathers flag.

I don't know if you saw it or not, but I also posted the photo of the flag flying with Corey saluting as the main image on usstorsk.org

Regards,

Gil

Thank you again Gil,

I saw it online and it moved me tremendously, I only wish that I could have been there to raise it with Corey and be apart of the crew once more.. one day hopefully
