Yup, she's on her way to the Bklyn Navy Yard for a  minor drydocking and then back home across from the Intrepid in early November. Clickety click on the below for the details and pic:

Nice pictures, glad she's back.  That one of a "line handler" - I hope that he did not intend to throw that hand line the way he was holding it!!  whole coil of line and the monkey's fist in one hand?  :crazy2:

He must be a former TM or A Ganger, personally I used to have half of the line in one hand and the other half in the other hand.. Now there were exceptions when trying to see who could toss a heevy line the farthest and then it was just like that, won a few lost a few doing it like that though

One of these days we need to sit pier side and see who can tie a monkey fist fastest.  I have one in my gararge to use when I need to get a line up over the roof for a hand line when doing weather station maintenance,  old people need support when walking on roofs. :'(

spent time in the deck gang and learned lots o' knots ;D

How about we just set on the pier and drink some nice cool beverages together and talk about ports past, never really learned how to time a monkey's fist because in the "supposed modern Navy" we used the orange rubber ball and now they use that with a throwing bag so that the line doesn't get tangled up onto intself while being thrown.

Well I know that blue balls are because of ;)  and that orange balls have been caused by eating too many cheeto's and then ???  but I never heard that orange balls are because of being a glow boat sailor :2funny:
