Yes we do have two spares and we are deciding if we can afford to part with them. Also will have to get Park directors ok. if we do let go of them it will be after the end of April as we would like to have them on hand for the filming of the movie in case one of ours goes tu.

Ok, thanks for that. I will talk to the Park manager at the Batfish and let him know about it.

There is a way to get your depth gauges back and that is by contacting the Navy Yard in Washinton, DC and send them a request to release a set of depth gauges for display on the USS USEDTOSAIL on the title owners letterhead. Now for your alarm boxes and contactors and horns and yes even klaxons (if you know where to hunt for them) you can get them on a strip ship and that is only a request away to MARAD in DC.

I am already talking one on one with the asst currator ifor the Navy in DC.  I am handling him with kid gloves right now as several politicians are poking their heads in his office asking about a certain BB mast.   Hmmmm.

The first step for any of the service branches is to establish youselves as a "ligitmate" museums.  This equils a mountain of paperwork to satisfiy the paper pushers that keep our government in its peak effeciancy.   After that it becomes reletively easy.  We just pick what we want and send a reallly nice leter requesting exactly what we want and what we are going to do wiht in.....

After that we shake the magic rubber chicken and pray to the great navy gods while we wait for approval.

The biggest thing to remember and this is true for all of the branches of service.  We will be responsible for the transport of the item to and from the msueum.
