What are you guys up to?
« on: June 25, 2009, 01:44:23 AM »
I know it's mega hot outside for most of us, and it's a busy summer, but goodness you guys are quiet lately.

What have you all been up to?

Lance now you ruined everything. I didn't realize it was hot until you brought it to my attention and then I immediately broke out in a sweat. We have been welding on the stern and doing some more sand blasting. Thought something was wrong when the paint rollars stuck to the hull as soon as they touched. good thing we are working on the lower half now.

Only when heat index is over 110 and no breeze or shade. I must be getting old.

Not bad in New Jersey - around 85 but lots of humidity, which is making things tough on an old TM. Took the convertible out today to a 4 yr old's birthday party.  I thought that I had stopped doing that 30 years ago- but got suckered into this one.  Good friend is the Grandmother.

Been getting ready for our annual 4th of July party.  Went out and stocked up on lots of ribs, and an 8 lbs. brisket for smoking The old Powder Room is stocked with lots of pyrotechnicals so we should have a blast that night.

We had our Base meeting on Friday and I was installed as Base vice-commander- just what I needed more work.

Also getting ready to go see Paul and that beautiful Cod!  This will be the highlight of my summer (sorry Darrin).  Maybe I can work on coming down to the Torsk in October and make that my highlight of the fall!

But I have been checking here daily to if someone was up to pulling some pranks.

No worries John, I am getting ready to go up to the Torsk for the 4th of July fireworks and get to stay onboard overnight so it will be fun.

I am taking a physics class over the summer in Colorado, but it is due to my laziness that i have not been on the site lately, and I forgot all my login info, ha ha. I am working on a project for the Batfish in my freetime while im out here, and cant wait to get back to do some work on the Killer sub.
"Uncommon Valor Was A Common Virtue" Adm. Nimitz on the Marines at Iwo Jima.

"USS Batfish relentlessly tracked down the enemy and in three separate, brilliantly executed attacks, launched her torpedoes with devastating speed and skill and demolished three Japanese submarines."

COD celebrated her 50th... that was a one-man band concert (well, Boats sure helped with the engine running)...

But we don't shrink from blowing our own horn.
