Volunteer to Scan Documents at NARA
« on: December 08, 2009, 01:55:50 PM »
Folks,

The Historic Naval Ships Association (http://www.hnsa.org) is looking for a volunteer to do some scanning at the National Archives and Records Administration in College Park, MD.  There are some really great ordnance publications, and booklet of general plans, and other documents that would be of interest to the entire historic naval ship community (not just subs.) in their collection.  I would like to expand the offerings, but I am in California so access is not easy.   Someone local can bring their own scanner, and if you have a fast scanner, it is as easy as photocopying (except better quality, cheaper and color.)  Fast scanners are more affordable now than ever (see the offerings from plustek for example.)
