Here is the latest video from News On 6.  She's listing about 15 deg to starboard.  At some point the weight will be resting on the stbd planes and a lot of strain put on the rudder.

So, you'll be flying into Tulsa with a war bird soon (as crew)?

A+, as always, Karen!

Looks good!

I don't miss working on the Batfish deck.  Many hot, sweaty, wasp-infested days.  Took us 4 years, in total.

Hey, Darrin!  Where is that new aviation museum located?

If the TVA has been back onboard since summer 2015, why did you decide to walk away?

I have no idea where the last 10 years went, but looking forward to the next 10...

So, how many people still post on the forum, in general, these days?

Everyone, go back to sleep.  There's nothing to see here....   :buck2:

This brings back memories...  :)  Our current "surround sound" amp does a pretty good job of belting out alarms and announcements.  So, this project has been on the back burner for a long time.  Other things, like the deck and phone system, took precedence... and still do.  The bridge needs A LOT of work, the outer hatches need new seals, we need to come up with better doors for the stairwells, etc.

Occasionally we would get a question during one of our event weekends that leaves you thinking... "WTF???..."  None are coming to mind right now.  One thing that did blow my mind was the number of claustrophobic people that would go on our tours.  Not sure if they were brave or stupid, because sometimes we'd have a line backed up from the CR all the way up the FTR stairs on deck and someone would finally snap and try to swim upstream.

I've done other types of public interactions/displays for WWI and WWII and I've had idiots come up to me (while I'm wearing a Wehrmacht uniform) and ask if I'm "union or confederate".  You just can't fix stupid.

Interesting court case, but Batfish is land-locked, too, unless a flood carries her away.  Supposedly, the previous mgt fixed the moorings.  Time will tell...

Brent,

The proposed museum layout was either Jim and/or Correy's ideas.  As far as content and layout go, Correy would be the better resource for that subject matter.  Jim has a lot of industry contacts that were willing to (in 2013) pony up materials to make the project cheap and Jim and I were going to volunteer our time (along with anyone else) to get the work done.  The idea was to crank it out in about a weekend.  The economy and Obamacare have been kicking businesses between the legs, though.  So, I'm not sure how generous most of those businesses would be today.

What really annoyed us is that we knew it was a good idea with a limited window of opportunity and it was quickly discarded as an idea "that the board would never approve", according to the manager.  What it really meant was more work for a certain individual that liked surfing the net and playing computer games all day.   :tickedoff:

Well, those of us at the Batfish (at least the useful, reliable ones) are finally walking away.  Time to move onto other things.  We'll keep you guys posted where we end up volunteering next.

I signed up on the FB page for moral support, but I'm with Fred.  She would need a ton of work to make her seaworthy enough to make the trip to TN.

In HI you have salt air to contend with.  At the end of the day, it's all bad.
