I was stationed on the Bonefish (SS-582) from 84-88 and the Blueback (SS-581) 88-90. I was a QM2 upon discharge and currently live in Northern California. This looks like a great site and I hope you do well in accomplishing your mission. One of my missions is to get a Nuke boat in a museum on the West Coast.

Welcome Rick! It must really be something to have a sub you served upon to now be a museum!
Do you happen to volunteer on any of the sub museum boats?
Glad to have you here!

Welcome aboard Rick,
What part of Calif? I grew up in SF Bay area. east side

I grew up in Yuba City, near Sacratomato. When I got out I came back here. I wish I could volunteer on a museum. The closest one here is the Pampanito and I really don't want to drive there. I am planning on making a trip to Portland and maybe volunteering there for a weekend. I have been there twice since the Blueback was opened there.
I am trying to open a museum here in Sacramento, but it has been slow going and hard to find support. I have a little onfo about that under another post titled NUKES. I figure it aint over till the obese lady sings.
Thanks!
