Post by: emeacho on December 18, 2008, 01:31:18 PM
OK, here is the question of the day:

Explain how electrical power gets from the battery to the trim pump.

Okay, one way is from the forward battery bank, through the disconnect switches to the forward distribution panel.  Through a breaker in that panel to the aux supply panel in the control room, through a breaker in it to the control cabinet in the pump room.  Start switch by the COW picks up the contactor in the cabinet letting power go through it and the overload relay, the starting resistors and the series and shunt windings to the motor windings.  The overload relay is before the contactor to protect the whole cabinet, by the way.  Don't have breaker or circuit IDs to go with this.  Terry
PS  Second way is from after battery bank through the bus tie.

Well, etkfixr gets an A+.  Good answer.

Chief,
Santa was VERY good to PJ unlike the Chief whom busted a TM's balls for telling him the truth about how power went from one source to another :knuppel2: Without wiring power won't go far unless it arc's and then we would all be screwed wouldn't we CHIEF ;)
