Title: Fall Torsk Work Weekend

I know that it may seem strange to already be talking about the Fall being as Spring has just recently arrived, but several people have been asking about information on the status of the next Torsk Work Weekend so we figured that an email/post was in order. The next Torsk Work Weekend will be held October 3rd to October 5th, 2008. Since it will have been a year since we've last hosted one, we are expecting a decent turnout. If you plan on attending, I would suggest that you email me and let us know so that we can get you on the confirmed list early.

We are actively working on the project list, and as the weekend gets closer we'll be putting out additional updates. We hope to see you all there. As usual it should be a great time.

So far there are over 40 people confirmed. Bruce is asking for a head count so they can accurately prepare for meals and such. Please contact him if you wish to attend.

Torsk Work Weekend planning is underway at this point, looking (for now, at least) like 30 Sep - 2 Oct 11 (date subject to change, but not likely). More to follow as I learn more.

Post by: Darrin on October 02, 2011, 03:38:28 PM: Torsk Work Weekends 2004-2011 are now alll over, this was my 8th year onboard and it was good to see everyone once more.. We do have new faces onboard and sadly I did not ask them who they are, I was busy trying to work :2funny:

The 3 crewmembers from the USS HONOLULU (SSN 718) that volunteer on the Torsk got to see each other for the first time since '93, we also had members from the USS SEA ROBIN have a small reunion also.. a lot of good work was done, the time flew by as those whom volunteer on our beloved museum submarines know and before we knew it, it was time to go home.

In the next few days the list of work that was done will be on the Torsk website, it was a good work weekend. Go to www.usstorsk.org to see what has tranpierd so far, there arent any pictures up yet and I am sure that their will be a few up there along with a pic that we need help identifying a part that was found in a locker in the FTR
