Title: USS PAMPANITO -- Down Periscope photo out of my archive...
Post by: Paul Farace on February 06, 2009, 03:16:08 AM
Kelsey was the "star" of Down Periscope as far as the film crew was concerned, but I gotta believe the steel lady was the real star. This is a still from the scene where Captain Dodge is about to "kick this pig" and take his first command out for a little spin... (right after the scene where the crew shrinks Loren Holly's uniform).  That's me as the starboard lookout (on the left)... my first big Hollywood role (and I am still waiting for the second )...

Now I have to dig out the color shots I took. This still was a gift from the still photographer on the set...

-- Thanks Malissa, where ever you are today!

I didn't know that you got your 15 seconds of glory.  Cool!

I am not sure that both scenes would amont to 15 seconds... maybe 5...  but it sure was fun!  The $104 paycheck (after taxes) went to the airfare penalty for extending my stay in San Fran, and buying pizza on the night they towed Pamp back to San Fran (pizza is twice the price in SF than Cleve) but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Learned a lot about what to do and what not to do when Holllywood comes knocking at your door, or hatch, in this case.
