Title: Dec. 7 aboard USS COD
Post by: Paul Farace on December 08, 2008, 12:39:58 AM
How about temps just this side of absolute ZERO!
Dec. 7 is rarely a balmy day in Cleveland, although we often have warm Christmases!  Today we had winds off the lake in excess of 40 knots! That made the 20 deg F. windchill DEADLY!  Poor USN honor squads!

The wreath got tossed back aboard three times!  I had to chase it down before it blew away in the wrong direction. But what else is a curator good for?
Hats off to the men and women of the USNR Center Akron (Cleveland no long has a Navy presence!  :'(  )  They braved the worst weather to honor the men of Dec.  7!

The last picture shows the wreath being held against COD by the wind... it then blew across the deck before I nabbed it.  Next year, lead weights in the wreath, PLEASE!
