Not to ornery with you John, but I moved your topic.  :)

Paul Newman was quite an extraordinary fella.  Just through the news of his passing have I learned a lot that I didn't know about him.

I'd didn't care of us politics, but everything else he did seemed to fit the image.

Never payed attention to his politics, just like the rest of the political views that comes from Hollywierd these days. BUT Paul Newman was a race car driver (and not just the voice of one) and he donated all of the profits from his salad dressings to one of his charities (he jokingly refered once that his salad dressings made more then his movies do) .
One of his marinades I like alot and that is the herbs and garlic, I like to marinade chops or chicken breasts in that for a couple of hours before putting the food on the grill.
And yes he served in the Navy on top of having that long career in films,

I use  lot of his products - not just salad dressings - all of his products went to contributing to charity - good man for doing that.
