Hm..their is 1 US submarine that is MIA from that area USS Amberjack

Images are poor quality. Almost looks like a U-boat or IJN sub bridge.

its not German most of the uboats that remain missing are missing up in the north atlantic it might be a jap like you said it is very hard to tell.

Thanks for the information on the Amberjack, I had forgotten her story and it sounds very possible that this is the Amberjack. The pictures provided show that it is a submarine (conning tower and the picture looking down on her) hopefully they will identifiy her
