Title: US NAvy Submarine Memoribilia to Donate
Post by: Figwig on January 13, 2013, 10:58:37 PM
US NAVY Submarine Memoribilia to Donate
We are cleaning out some old things in the house and my husbands has a shoebox full of Insignias, medals, coins and patches from the 1940's and up from a retired enlisted Master Chief submariner who fought in WWII ( his grandfather).  He also had many items from other vets who had passed away and he had helped clean out their houses in PA. There are too many small parts and items to list but if you have any specific questions I will try my best to answer.  I will ship to you if you would like these items.

The Torsk Volunteer Association (TVA) is always looking for submarine memorabilia to display aboard Torsk.  We would be happy to take this collection of yours and add it to ours.  Please let me know if it is still available and I will send you the address.

Thanks,

Mike Eacho
Torsk Volunteer Association

Figwig, are any of the submarine items are related to any of the museum submarines we have across the country?  If not, then I would definitely take Mike up on his offer.

Another option would be to contact John Clear of the United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI) for the items to go into their collection.  But the TVA would probably get more of the items on display for everyone in a faster way.

THank you Lance,
I didn't see any specific Museum name, but I could be wrong or there may be something in there.

I have found an association that will take the items.
Thank you!
