Title: New ranking system
Post by: Lance Dean on March 25, 2008, 09:14:19 AM
This forum has a "rank" system that is purely built off of post count.  I've modified it as follows:

Seaman Apprentice, 0-19 posts

Seaman, 20-59 posts

Petty Officer 3rd class, 60-119 posts

Petty Officer 2nd class, 120-239 posts

Petty Officer 1st class, 240-479 posts

Chief Petty Officer, 480+ posts

Of course, these ranks mean nothing other than how many total posts you've made.  Get to posting fellas!

Today I added a neat Bravo Zulu! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bravo_Zulu) (well done!) feature.  If you wish to give someone thanks for a helpful post they made, just click on the "+1 Bravo Zulu!" link under their username in a posting thread.  This will add to their total number of BZs as shown.

Don't worry, you can't give yourself BZs and it's completely anonymous.  Not even I know who gives who BZs.

There was a negative BZ option as well, but I removed it.   :knuppel2:

I was wondering why I was a Seaman Deuce again.  Now I know how to move up. :)

Hehe, yep Bill, the ranking system is basically a fun little way to reflect how many posts you've made over time.  Most all other internet forums have a similar ranking thing.

The BZ system is just a nice way to thank others without having to say anything.
