All sorts of things happening there. New head, carpet, and walls moving around. Looking good.
-
:D U going to have a lobster concession there? :crazy2: Yum! Yum! :smitten:
-
Lobsta with some beverages of choice sounds good right about now there JT, maybe John Bay can send us some of dem bugs for us to cook up in salt water and have a few tall cool ones ;)
-
Thanks for the update John.
-
Beverages of choice? :o Well now we got something - Gilly and lobsters! :D I'm on the way!
-
On the way? When do you arrive?
-
Heading south - Gilly spotted in Outer Banks - also warmer ;D
-
I will mail lobsters parcel post...
-
:P All they have down there is damn little Blue Crabs - you can crack 2 dozen and still not have enough meat to fill up on! Or for some reason they will cook the damn things shell and all - and call them soft shelled crabs. :buck2:
-
Those things are called "fish bait" here...
-
tell me - men eat real crabs - blues are bate
-
We try not to get the crabs here.
-
Little ones are hard to get rid of for sure :crazy2:
-
but catchin them little suckers can be fun sometimes :2funny: although they aren't that fun once you caught them ;)
-
Shallow waters ::) is good for Hand grenade crabbing :coolsmiley:
-
but catchin them little suckers can be fun sometimes :2funny: although they aren't that fun once you caught them ;)
NEVER use an ice pick on them!
-
U go t that right ;D
-
and don't try to bbq them ;)
-
They fall through the grate. :P But they go good with Gilly! Toss them overboard and drink the Gilly! :2funny:
-
Speakin of BBQ'n stuff and it is by chance FRIDAY, it is time to fire the grill up once more and toss some steaks and chicken and even so ribs out on it tonight :smitten: will be marinating them shortly for an hour or so when the chicken and steaks thaw out. Would love to have had some Maine Lobsta's to go with this but for some reason they didn't show up in the mail tonight ::)
-
Well that grilling stuff is ok for a quick meal - but I need the whole day off to fire up the smoker - ribs, brisket, maybe a big turkey breast thrown in for good measure. Slow smoking for hours - with just a touch of Gilly. Now that's a meal. No smoking lobsters. :crazy2:
-
Sent them 3rd class mail. I was assured they will arrive by July 4th. Enjoy!
-
Thanks John, don't know if they will be edible by the time that they show up but what the heck they may be REAL hungry and pissed off because they haven't eaten for a while and that maybe fun to see what they look like when they show up. :2funny:
-
Excuse me while I LOL I thought Maine Lobesters were above traveling 3rd class. :2funny: Might as well be shipping those mud bugs from down south!
-
Hey John,
just had a thought :o Why don't you open a Lobsta concession stand there at the museum and charge the tourista's for some real local grub when they come through to tour the Albacore???? Just make sure that you don't serve the Gilly to them or they will never leave 8) Some good Lobsta and Shrimp you can always call your dish "bugs and biologics" and when they ask what it is give them a lesson in submarine termanology and what they sound like underwater, get them interested in submarines in more ways then one.
Food for thought
-
Darrin you hit a a great idea - why not a concession stand where everything edible has some link to sub terminology or history. Blow negative beans (can't use sanitary), bug juice (flavor of the day), ice tea with hint of diesel, SOS (children present so I wont spell it out, but you know what it is). Here's a ready -made apron for you John!
-
Ya see JT there is a reason why submariner's don't open up concession stands at a submarine museum, sooner or later we WILL have to go below decks and for those pure boats like the COD who hasn't been modified to allow a little older and maybe a few pounds overweight folks onboard it might be a little tight for some of us to get back onboard to commence field day or help restore equipment below during inclimate weather. Aww who cares about gettin dirty on a boat when we can bring some tourista's in so they can spend their money in more ways then one, let's call this new stand the "deep diving cafe" and start makin some money :coolsmiley:
-
:knuppel2:Moderation :knuppel2: With some good Gilly! :crazy2: And you can fit below! :smitten:
-
Sure with enough force we can fit some people below but do you really want to try to apply force to their bottom on the exit trip :tickedoff: Now there are a number of female tourista's that I have seen on Torsk that I would be more then happy to ahem help them with climbing up the ladder after a full access tour of the WHOLE boat :smitten:
-
Thought you were qualified! Don't push up on butts to get out. Just pressurize the boat!
-
Snorkel to get them in - pressurize to move from compartment to compartment. :crazy2: You feed them - we'll move them about! :2funny:
This also brings back a sea story - Jamaica we pulled into Ocho Rios and these two jg's went off - we didn't know where but a few hours later they came back with smiles and 4 (count them) Playboy Bunnies! We had no idea there was a Playboy Club on that island, but they did. Long legs and very short skirts - I was topside watch - damn! But there were hands below to help them off the Forward Torpedo Room hatch ladder! They also got more help UP as they left a couple hours later - I was still topside watch! DAMN! :D
-
I was in control on the 654 in Rota and helped Sophia, (now Queen of Spain) down the ladder for a tour of the boat. They ate dinner with the crew. Great folks! At that time Juan Carlos was Pretender to the Throne, as Franco was still in power. Her skivvies were NOT Govt. Issue.
-
I am qualified on the boats, however I do know that there are a number of musuem boats that CAN'T pressurize their compartments anymore so that is why I mentioned having to PUSH instead of pressurizing the compartment and BLOWING them out of the boat :2funny:
-
Come on John would you want to pressurize forward torpedo room to get her into Forward Battery? :crazy2: And Darrin I'll leave the "pushing" to You buddy! I'll sit back with a cup of Gilly and watch! LOL :buck2:
-
Geez thanks JT for gettin her IN the boat and now you are leaving it up to me to get her out ??? That's ok, she is going to qualify each compartmet as she can fit through the hatches until she can get herself out of the boat, 1/4 rations and water for her... Duty Chief secure the AC to the aft torpedo room and turn on the heaters, break out the air freshners and open the escape hatch to let the
smell I mean heat out, have the bellow decks tuck her in on a matress on the deck and then wake her up in the morning with some nice big lobsta's waiting for her topside. One way or another I WILL get her out of the boat
-
:D You put a BIG :o Ham sandwich in Aft Torpedo Room & ring the dinner bell! She'll fly right through as if the Collision Alarm went off! :2funny: Big Mamm can Move Baby!
-
GO for it JT and I will sit in the ATR with a BIG glass of gilly and juice and smile and laugh as you do that because I forgot to tell you earlier that I had the cook grease the door ways to allow her to slide right through :2funny:
