USS Cavalla (SS-244) / Cavalla Work lists and happenings
« on: March 07, 2008, 09:08:02 AM »
We have been working on the Cavalla for just about nine years and she has come a long way, but there is still work to be done.
Some of the major work on Cavalla that we are wanting to accomplish:
1. Work both scopes so they are operational
2. Paint both engine rooms
3. Start the major job of restoring the spaces under control room
4. Modify some of the remaining bunk frames so they can be used and fully outfit Cavalla with bunks

These are some of the jobs we want to get started on, and finished. In  the very near future I will post some dates that we would like to have some folks here to help and we will see how it goes.

OK, you got the Cavalla involved. I don't know how much time I can devote to the ste, but I will try to check in at least every other day or so.
For those of you that visit some of the other BBS sites, Gil Raynor posted some pictures for me that are of the Carp conning tower. I know, it was an error. They are not of the Cavalla conn. But the point is, I am missing some parts and pieces and I am not completely sure what goes in the missing slots. Anyone out there know what I should be looking for to complete the Carp conning tower and have it on display in the very near future?
Incidentally, e-mail is a better way to reach me........macm@airmail.net

Ooops, gotta go, they just called for the weapons loading party, we are loading our MK 45 this morning, you should be able to watch part of it on our web cam:)              www.cavalla.org      or    www.cavalla244.org          Two cameras, a park cam and a cam in the fwd torpedo room.
