Will this movie go straight to dvd, or will it be shown at a film festival first? Or is there any info on this matter at all?
"Uncommon Valor Was A Common Virtue" Adm. Nimitz on the Marines at Iwo Jima.

"USS Batfish relentlessly tracked down the enemy and in three separate, brilliantly executed attacks, launched her torpedoes with devastating speed and skill and demolished three Japanese submarines."

Well, I'm not sure and I don't even know if THEY know yet.  I believe I understood that they were shooting for a theatrical release.

What they are hoping for is  for the movie to be picked up by a theater distributor, if not it will be released on dvd. They will come back some time in the fall to finish shooting so it probably won't be released until early next year. They are still trying to raise the money to finish filming.

Fay Couldn't Stop "USS SEAVIPER" The Movie!

Contributed by: Robert Norris on 9/17/2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 09.17.08

"NOT EVEN TROPICAL STORM FAY COULD STOP THIS MOVIE!"

Scenes from the Feature Film " USS SEAVIPER" were scheduled to be filmed in mid August

but due to extensive flooding in Pt. St. Lucie caused by Tropical Storm Fay

they had to be re-scheduled.

On Friday & Saturday, September 19th and 20th, four scenes from the World War 2

Submarine Combat film " USS SEAVIPER" will be filmed at a park in Pt. St. Lucie,

Florida. In the scenes being filmed two American Pilots are shot down by Japanese

anti-aircraft fire while on a "Top Secret" flight over a small island in the South Pacific.

The Americans have information that ties Axis forces to a Uranium exchange on the

island and " USS SEAVIPER" a World War 2 Era Diesel Sub is sent to rescue the

downed pilots and gather information that will confirm Allied Intelligence's worst fears.

On the ground the downed pilots grapple with the jungle and life threatening injuries

while they are hunted by Axis troops and are forced to fight for their lives. (including

some pretty nasty hand-to-hand combat). The crew aboard the boat has their own

worries as the Navigational Officer and COB struggle for power, and " USS SEAVIPER"

is depth charged by a Japanese destroyer. Some of them won't make it out alive!

"The scenes we are shooting this weekend will be among some of the most profound

moments in the movie. They portray the deepest sacrifices our fighting men and

women had to make to protect our liberties during this great conflict."

-Ralph Villani Director, "USS Seaviper".

South Florida based, Villani-Rockhill Productions in co-operation with Statusfilms,

Shoreline Production Services, Saturn Sound Studios and TC Video will film eight

scenes from the upcoming feature film, USS SEAVIPER, a World War II submarine

combat film in south Florida.

Steve Roth, Tim Large, Michael Jacques, Marc Emerson, Jordan Wall, Shane Brown,

Chris Mite, Jack Sammarcoand Bryan Powers will be the actors featured in the scenes being shot on

Friday & Saturday.

World War 2 era Japanese Infantry Combat Gear is being provided for these scenes,

A documentary about the USS Drum Submarine including interviews from World War 2

Submarine Veterans is also being produced in co-operation with Battleship Memorial

Park in Mobile, Alabama. Three of the USS Drum World War 2 Submarine Veterans

featured in the Drum Documentary currently reside in South Florida.

Well, I understand that the film crew has finished their first week out of three weeks of filming on the Drum.  Wish I could see some of it in person!

We have one more week to go and in the first 12 days I have been on the Drum for 160 hours, feels like I am back on patrol. It is going good and we are ahead of schedule.
