I saw your post on Don's bbs and it was a really cool thing for you to post your grandfathers letter for all to see, sadly the knowledge that we loose on a daily basis will NEVER be found again once they are gone.  For those who work on the museum boats remember those whom have come before you when you get on the boat the next time and say a prayer for the ones who have already gone on eternal patrol.  I will be on Torsk this weekend and I will say a prayer for those who walked her decks before me and hopefully the WWII vets that we have local will once more show up and grace us with their presence. Thanks again Lance for posting your grandfathers letter on Don's bbs, it was truly awesome to see it and know that all the way up to the early 90's submariner's were still doing that (I think that I still have a letter from one of my shipmates saying roughly the same in his letter dated early 1995)
