Just wanted to say hello and thank you for this site - I just happen to be in one of those moods on Sunday and was thinking about my father - so thanks to the age of technology I googled him and I found this incredible site - my father (Joseph J. Breslin) served on the USS Batfish in World War II - he was extremely proud to have served aboard the Batfish and many of the pictures on this site I have looked at since my childhood and now belong to me which I've shared with my 4 sons!!

If my father were alive today, he would get a kick out of this site - he never lived long enough to be part of "google"!!!!!  About 15 years ago my mother made the trip out to Oklahoma to see the Batfish in his honor and his memory!!!

Thank you and kind regards,

Vicki (Breslin) DeStefano

Welcome to the forum, Vicki.  There are many of the Batfish volunteers here on the forum who'd love to talk all about the Batfish with you.

Welcome aboard Vicki
It is always great to see a daughter or son of a submariner return to the submarine family.

Welcome aboard Vicki, pull up a chair and say a while. The Batfish crew have come along way in the last couple of years and it doesn't look like they are slowing down any so this should be a fun ride for all of us watchin them bring her back to life

Hi Vicki,

Hi everyone.

Welcome aboard.  This is my first post, as well.  I am friends with Bob Fulton, who also served on the Batfish during WWII.  Did you know that there is a wonderful book written by Don Keith about her.  "In The Course of Duty" is rich in her history.  Hope you have a good experience posting
on this great site and board.
