Is this the day?
« on: June 02, 2009, 06:03:02 AM »
Word from Lance is that he will be spending today and the next 3-4 in the hospital - baby time.  Emily opted for a C-section so Kara Celeste should be born within the next few hours. :D

Lance is updating is FaceBook status as things go on & may post a picture or two tonight or tomorrow of baby Kara Celeste.

Not sure on that name - I might have opted for "little Johnnie Wayne" - OK what does a torpedoman know about naming little girls?  Someone pass the Gilly!

Best of Luck to Emily and Lance. :smitten:

Kara Celeste Dean
Born Tuesday, June 2, 2009
4:51 PM central
7 pounds 14 ounces
20 inches long

Thanks for all your prayer and support guys.  We just got home this afternoon from the hospital.  The parents are tired as heck, Kara has a case of jaundice.  We have to take her back tomorrow to the hospital to have her billyrubin (sp?) checked.

Blackouts are hell - well done Gunner & Mrs. Gunner - now do you think we can get little Kara Celeste started on quals in the Forward Torpedo Room?

If ever we change policies - I'll be happy to pin miss Kara with my Dolphins Gunner.  And that is a promise.

And if for some reason my beloved colegue isn't around to pin his dolphins on her I will be honored to pin mine upon her (assuming my son doesn't get them first) and honestly I would be honored to pin his along with mine on her so she will have 2 generations of TM's dolphins on her chest

Thanks for the kind words guys.  It means a lot.

The hospital had no public internet access so I couldn't post any updates until we got home.  The guest bed sucked.

I suppose Kara will do anything she sets out to do.  The day she was born the city elected its first woman mayor.  Wild.

I have been busy as hell with dad issues of late (ping ponging between the hospital and rehab)... but you and your wife have been on my mind... glad to hear the stork made such a wonderful delivery!!!

God bless you all...  especially your little angel!

Here's hoping she is like me when I was a baby... My mother said I mostly ate and slept!

Funny thing, 51 years later that still describes me!   ::)

Congratulations!

Congrats! Be warned from someone who had a little girl earlier this year: She WILL steal your heart and never give it back. :smitten:
